Persbericht 18-02-2014 - The Biometrics Institute, the independent and international impartial body for the biometrics sector today announced the official strategic partnership with Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services, for the delivery of the Biometrics 2014 Conference & Exhibition to be held on the 21-23 October 2014 in London.
The international Biometrics Institute is known for its expertise and long track-record in bringing together the industry as a whole including end users, suppliers and academics. It has been proactively working with the industry as a truly independent body since 2001. Elsevier has been successfully running the Biometrics Conference & Exhibition in London since 2001 attracting an audience from around the world. By bringing together the strength of these two international brands, this exclusive strategic alliance will provide the industry with an event that will deliver excellent content, speakers and delegates on a large international stage.
Isabelle Moeller, Chief Executive of the Biometrics Institute stated, "The Biometrics Institute is always looking at ways to work with our currently 146 members to help shape the future of the biometrics industry. Partnering with Elsevier and the well-recognised Biometrics show will allow the Institute to promote the responsible use of biometrics on an even larger stage, giving members more visibility, increased access to information and people.

Our aim with this event is to bring together not only the government agencies but also the vertical markets of aviation, healthcare, retail, and banking to this event to assist us with our mission of promoting the responsible use of biometrics", said Ms Moeller.

Biometrics 2014: The future of identity starts here! (www.biometrics2014.com) is the largest European event bringing together end users, suppliers, integrators and academics to shape and debate the future of identity in practical, stimulating and interactive sessions. In addition to a comprehensive 3-day conference, an exhibition area features more than 40 leading suppliers and developers of biometric, smart card and identity management solutions.
The conference is held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London, from Tuesday 21 October to Thursday 23 October 2014. The exhibition, which is free to enter, will run on Wednesday 22 October and Thursday 23 October 2014.
About the Biometrics Institute
The Biometrics Institute is the independent and impartial international membership organisation for biometric users and other interested parties established in 2001 to promote the responsible use of biometrics. It provides its members, key stakeholders and the public with services providing best-practice information about biometrics such as the Biometrics Privacy Guidelines and the Biometrics Institute Vulnerability Assessment Expert Group (BVAEG).
